Delicately Romantic

A poem prepared
in champagne and lace,
so delicately romantic.
Passion committed
to words
was something she needed.

To write we must
feel the words;
we must speak a language
of intimate feel.

All the great words -
love,
joy,
happiness,
were just 
a cocktail of experience
in life.

The morbid silence
was alive
between their words.

I love you,
please help me understand
the emotion behind
the words.
I don't know if I've
ever really known.

The sound of laughter
is beyond
words, reminding us
we are human.

This was, in words
simply contentment, unlike
any other,
feel these quiet moments
with me. Stay
a few minutes
and look at the stars.

Has this mind,
replete with ideas, perished?
Pardon this gush of sorrow; words are but
the example of anguish.

Uttering a few unintelligible words
I don't yet possess
the language to articulate
the emotion, the loss, the anger.

The inexhaustible
song of light was indefinable
and vaguely recognizable
if I had only heard it in words.
