Sincere Belief

It is my sincere belief
that love
can
make everything else
seem unimportant.

She was a lonely bird
full of unchanging melancholy.
She felt a terrible appeal
to detach from everything.

I was devastating
my weakness, 
that I ruin
everything I touch,
without exception.

Gumption,
I trust that it can
solve everything.

She will see everything, fill herself
up with stories
and she will live richly
and deeply.

I can't conceive
even at my age, why are we all so
tongue tied, and yet
seem to have everything.

You wonder if you've got
what it takes.
You don't want to just live
you have faith in yourself,
and a flood of confidence in everything
you do.

There are choices in life -
arbitrary comforts or a hope
capable of anything.
Pretending to live or be
happy with everything ahead.

Come away with me. Forget everything.
You must go to a place of grass, silence and woods.
A place like that
was alive.

If something happened
it would spoil everything.
Whatever this was
would only
complicate things.
