Escape

I don't need escape
I have enough,
and right now I shall live
a life of sonnets, love,
and dirty life
in bed.

Just remember
that the abnormal mind
is quick to know intimate revelations
of infinite hope.

Women: they were as unpredictable
as the sea.

Women have served
the magic and delicious power
of the earth
and the glories of unknown crowns
and heroic action.

This book
serves as my epigraph,
a work of art
turning other people's
creative fictions
into poems that explore
life experiences.

Things that people
do easily
could be difficult for her.
Normal gestures painful,
her triumphs were
of the absolute ordinary.

Her life
will be born
in her poetry,
even in obscurity.

Health and happiness
are at the center
of importance.

It is in our idleness
in our dreams
the submerged truth comes to the top.
All these emotions
lurking
had unmistakably roused
in my heart.

Utterly lost
in our intimacy,
I did not want to
break the spell.
