A Single Wish

I have
a single wish,
my whole being is yearning
so unwaveringly,
for you.

With that look
in his eyes,
I knew I'd give in.

I would like to dance
close to him
for a long time
in the light.

Cincinnati
and rural Indiana,
I was free to become anyone
so I started
writing,
my imagination
busy emerging out.

Love was simple but
it felt
like a jumbled
vulnerable curiosity
and I was utterly without will.

In her heart
the strange potency
she felt
a sudden flame of wonder
only to be near him.

Dream together
of beautiful lives,
in a relationship
half crazy
with passionate love.

I love you,
please help me understand
the emotion behind
the words.
I don't know if I've
ever really known.

The kind of stuff
we have is a
once-in-a-lifetime love.

I chose you,
I simply fell in love.
It's obvious you are
so extraordinary.
